About Me
I am a pilgrim in this world โ watching, learning, and reflecting on what I see. Like everyone else, Iโm trying to understand myself and my place in the world. I write to share what I learn on that journey.
As an observer and essayist, I explore a wide range of topics, connecting ideas and uncovering meaning along the way. My work is a mix of reflection, analysis, and storytelling โ sometimes challenging perspectives, sometimes just making sense of things. I donโt claim to have the answers, but I ask the questions that matter to me, and maybe to you too.
If youโre drawn to thoughtful takes on life, culture, and the world around us, then welcome. Weโre all just passing through, after all โ might as well make sense of the journey.
I learned not to take everything seriously when I was very young. Consequently, I developed a satirical perspective on thoughts that come to mind, personal experiences, and observations of the world.
Two lenses mold my perspective on those things that define and challenge our nation and our place in the world โ Americanism and Catholicity. Undoubtedly, some will share my worldview, and others will be offended. My purpose is not to offend but to foster dialogue on opposing views.
At the end of the day, if you are still offended, thatโs OK. This is America; we have the right to be offended. Wait until you read my satire.
Political Perspectives
Americanism
I am a committed political centrist. The principles of Americanism define our political center, which forms the political lens through which I view the world. Our Founders and Framers passed on their beliefs about humanity, society, economies, and government in the writings they left behind. The Declaration of Independence and the Constitution strove to properly balance government and the people โ a state of ordered Liberty. While not flawless, it is a journey towards a โmore perfect union,โ as they termed it, and it calls for our collective responsibility to retain that balance.
Joshu ๐
Abraham Lincoln famously used the metaphor of โan apple of gold in a frame of silverโ to describe the relationship between the Declaration and the Constitution. He believed that the Declarationโs assertion that โall men are created equalโ was not merely a revolutionary statement but a timeless principle that should guide the interpretation and application of the Constitution.

I have embraced Americaโs ideals for as long as I can remember. Iโve always felt grateful for being born in this country. We are blessed to inherit the principles on which this country was founded, its history, and its culture. Despite our share of severe stumbles at home and abroad, I believe that America is a great nation made exceptional by people who embrace those principles and, through commitment, hard work, determination, and often sacrifice, make this nation a better place. As did those who came before us, through our collective efforts, we will pass on a better nation than we inherited.
Joshu ๐ซฑ
Preamble to the Constitution ๐ซฑ โโฆ and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, โฆโ ๐ซฒ
Including โourselves and our Posterityโ indicates that the Framers were concerned not only with their present situation but also with the future generations of Americans. This demonstrates their intent to create a lasting framework of government that would protect liberty for both their contemporaries and their descendants.

We inherited this nation. We must create a lasting Americanist legacy to pass on to our heirs.
Progressivism
The progressive ideology is entirely at odds with a nation built on Americanism. Americanism is not an ideology; it is a way of life.
Americanism embodies the original principles of the Declaration of Independence and the proper balance between a government and the people in the Constitution. Americanism is pro-human, pro-culture, pro-society, pro-free market, and pro-republic creating a well-ordered Liberty.
Progressivism embodies principles antithetical to Americanism. Progressivism is anti-human, anti-culture, anti-society, anti-free market, and anti-republic which creates a much-disordered liberty, aka tyranny.
Progressivism is tearing at the foundations of Americanism to transform America into something foreign to our fundamental human nature.
The Corrupted American Flag is a graphical metaphor that illustrates my view of Americaโs current state of affairs โ Americanism is corrupted by progressivism.
Americanism is symbolized by the โStars and Stripes,โ the flag of the original 13 states. The fish, an early Christian symbol, at the base of the flag represents Americaโs moral foundation, which protects religious freedom. The monstrance inside the fish represents my Catholic beliefs. The faded, upside-down flag with a disorderd field of stars symbolizes my view that progressivism corrupts everything that defines America.
Spiritual Perspectives
At an early age, I was drawn to the teachings of the Catholic Church, which forms the spiritual lens through which I view the world. To the best of my ability, I work to develop my natureโs spiritual side and faithfully live the Catholic faith.
The attacks on Catholics are on the rise and are symptomatic of those with distorted views of all religious beliefs. Attacks are often rooted in hatred and perversion but more often result from unfamiliarity with what Catholics genuinely believe and are called by the Church to live.

My purpose in describing what Catholics believe is not to evangelize but to provide a better understanding (to those with an inquiring mind) of Catholic teaching and how Catholics are called to engage in society and politics so that they may better understand my perspective.
Spiritual Mission
My spiritual mission is centered around my personal relationship with God, my fraternity with the Knights of Columbus, and my communion with the Catholic Church. These three pillars serve as the foundation for presenting an authentic image of Christ to the world as perfectly as I can.
Personal Mission
Personal Spiritual Growth
At the heart of my involvement lies a commitment to deepening my relationship with Christ. This includes daily prayer, ongoing study of Scripture and Church teaching, volunteering in works of mercy, and courageously sharing the Faith when opportunities arise. I see this as a lifelong formation โ both interior and outward โ through which I am molded into a better man, brother, and servant.
Family
The family is not merely a social construct of human invention โ it is a likeness of Godโs inner life. Just as God exists eternally as a communion of persons โ Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Mother) โ so too is the human family a reflection of this divine unity. Husband and wife, joined in love, become co-creators with God through the gift of children, forming a living trinity of love. In the family, we see the imprint of Godโs nature: creative, relational, sacrificial, and enduring.
Witness
To witness is to live as a visible, living exemplar of Christ in the world โ not by proclamation, but by presence. It is the ongoing act of being merciful instead of judgmental, encouraging instead of indifferent, forgiving instead of resentful. This kind of witness uplifts others simply by how one listens, responds, and lives. Itโs neighborliness with purpose, civility infused with grace, and a quiet pull toward what is right โ not through condemnation, but through compassion. It is the Gospel, not shouted, but embodied.
Knights Mission
Fraternity
The Knights are more than an organization โ they are a brotherhood. I seek to cultivate authentic relationships with my fellow Knights, grounded in mutual respect, accountability, and encouragement. Brotherhood means showing up for each other not only in meetings but in life โ bearing one anotherโs burdens, celebrating victories, and building bonds that go beyond the parish walls.
Charity
Charity is our first principle, and I live it by giving generously โ of my time in service, my talent in leadership or skill, and my treasure in stewardship. I aim to be intentional and strategic in how I give, ensuring that my contributions serve the greater good, meet real needs, and reflect the dignity of those we help.
Growth of the Council
Iโm committed to the growth of our local Council in all dimensions: financially stable, mission-driven, and spiritually alive. I focus on recruiting faithful Catholic men, retaining them through meaningful engagement, and ensuring our projects are mission-aligned and visible in the parish and community. A thriving Council serves as a beacon of Catholic manhood and service.
Growth of the Knights Organization
Beyond my local Council, I value the broader mission of the Knights of Columbus. Fellowship with the broader Knights organization expands my sense of belonging โ not just in my own home or parish, but in the great spiritual family of Catholic men united by a common cause. I stay informed about Supreme initiatives, participate in regional and statewide events, and work to expand or adapt programs that can enrich our own local efforts. My aim is to be both a faithful local servant and a connected brother in the wider fraternity.
Civic Responsibility
As a Knight, I see no contradiction between faith and patriotism. I strive to be a responsible citizen โ engaged in civic life, respectful of authority, and a voice for moral clarity in the public square. Whether through honoring veterans, promoting voting, or defending life and liberty, I uphold the dignity of my country without compromising the teachings of my faith. Civic responsibility flows from the duty to leave a just, free, and faithful world for the next generation.
Church Mission
Communion with the Church
My involvement with the Knights is inseparable from my love for the Church. I strive to remain in communion with our parish leadership, to support the pastorโs vision, and to serve wherever the Church has need. This fellowship ensures our work is not parallel to the Church โ but within it, under her guidance, and for her benefit. Fellowship with the Church is rooted in obedience and faithfulness.
